Why learn from me?

I led my first job interview at the age of 20. As the new Editor-in-Chief of my university newspaper, I needed to hire a graphic designer. It was a disaster. I had no idea what I needed to know, or what to ask to find it . I hired someone who was friendly, a great speaker and presenter, and had no idea how to run our software.

Consequently, I also fired my first employee when I was 20 years old... a mere three weeks later.

After that experience I set out to learn all I could about recruitment and hiring. Little did I know then just where this would take me.

 

A multi award-winning resume writer and career strategist , I have helped hundreds of clients all over the world to reach their career goals: making more money, increasing job security, improving employment benefits, and much more. 

Over the last 20+ years, I have been on hundreds of hiring boards, from entry-level to executive, and I have seen it all when it comes to interview blunders: arriving late, being rude or overly familiar, and completely missing the point of interview questions. I have also been blown away by candidates who have the interviewing process mastered - from the moment they walk in the door they are communicating their value in every word, every motion.

 

Now, I want to share this knowledge and experience with my clients.

My approach

On this course I have broken down the interview preparation process into three easy modules so you can prepare for all aspects of the job interview process: before entering the interview room, once you are in the room, and after you leave the room. Along with video lessons and independent activities, you will participate in group coaching, our community page, and mock interviews.

MODULE 1

BEFORE YOU ENTER THE ROOM

The minute you send out your resume, the interview has begun. If they called in 10 minutes, are you ready? Do you have a professional voicemail message? Could you answer pre-screening questions on the spot? If the interview was tomorrow, do you have an outfit and a portfolio ready? In this module you explore the many ways you can make a positive first impression and score points before you even make it into the interview room!

In the Room

Etiquette is everything! In Module 2 you will master your posture, facial expressions, and small talk - everything you need to project confidence and competence.

You will get inside the interviewer’s head, and realize you aren’t the only one with a reason to be nervous. Your interviewer also has a lot on the line. You'll look closely at the various types of interview questions and the best approach to answer each so you are sharing the information the interviewer needs to place you at the top of their candidate’s list.

MODULE 3

AFTER YOU LEAVE THE ROOM

Following up promptly and courteously can make the difference between getting the job offer and finding yourself back in job search mode. But how do you say thank you or request an update on the hiring process without being a pest? ​Module 3 will help you understand how and when to follow up, and what to say, to make sure you continue to make a good impression on your potential employer, long after you left the interview room.

MODULE 2

Up until now, resume writing has taken up the bulk of my time. Clients frequently ask for interview assistance and I rarely have openings in my calendar. I am only able to support a handful of clients in a one-on-one setting which costs between $100 and $150 an hour. I wanted to do more, to make the service more accessible. So, I have condensed and transformed that one-on-one interview coaching into an online course. I am offering a mix of video lessons, community engagement, small group activities, group coaching, and online office hours, totaling over 30 hours of training and guidance to help YOU master your next job interview.

This much support and information from me through one-on-one coaching would easily cost you $1500 to $2000 . Instead, this 30 hours of innovative training costs a fraction of that.
